General Mission
Volunteer Lecturers at FAE Foundation will serve as academic facilitators, mentors, and community leaders, delivering rigorous, university-style instruction tailored to high school students. The program aims to bridge the gap between secondary and tertiary education, nurturing intellectual curiosity, global citizenship, and leadership skills among youth.
Key Responsibilities
Geopolitics & International Relations
- Analyze global systems, diplomacy, and regional conflicts.
- Teach map-reading, historical timelines, and current events interpretation.
- Foster an understanding of Côte d’Ivoire’s and Africa’s position in global affairs.
Curriculum Design & Planning
- Develop a structured, semester-style course plan (8–12 weeks) with clear weekly learning outcomes.
- Align content to pre-university standards, preparing students for higher education.
- Incorporate both French and English materials to support bilingual development.
Course Delivery & Instruction
- Deliver interactive lectures, seminars, and workshops (in-person or hybrid).
- Use teaching aids such as slides, case studies, media, and simulations.
- Foster student participation through group work, role play, debates, and presentations.
- Adapt to diverse learning styles and prior knowledge levels.
Assessment & Feedback
- Create formative and summative assessments (quizzes, reflection papers, miniprojects).
- Provide constructive, personalized feedback to support academic growth.
- Host mock oral exams or presentations to prepare students for public speaking and university evaluations.
Mentorship & Academic Support
- Offer office hours or mentorship sessions for students needing additional support.
- Encourage career exploration and civic engagement related to your discipline.
Educational Innovation & Inclusion
- Promote gender equity, diversity, and inclusion within classroom dynamics.
- Integrate digital tools and open educational resources when appropriate.
- Emphasize critical thinking, self-confidence, and applied learning.
Team & Program Contribution
- Collaborate with other lecturers and coordinators for cross-disciplinary sessions.
- Attend periodic training or reflection meetings organized by the Foundation.
- Actively contribute to FAE Foundation’s mission of community transformation through education.
Candidate Profile
- Fluent in both English and French (C1+ proficiency ideal).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in any relevant field (Master’s preferred, not required).
- Good knowledge of subject to be taught.
- Teaching, tutoring, or facilitation experience strongly valued.
- Deep commitment to youth empowerment, equity, and education as service.
- Ability to work autonomously, creatively, and in collaboration.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsive to student needs.
